Phoenix Industries growth has been dependant on its dedication to the production of small parts. Mold bases dedicated to small part insert design are owned by Phoenix.
A customer purchases a mold insert to produce their part to fit in the mold base.
The result is an inexpensive tool which performs at a level of one which is much more expensive.
Peripherals such as slides and custom knock out systems can be added as part of the mold insert.
We have found that the setup time for this type of tooling is minimal and does not add on to the costing of the product. In most cases this is adjusted into the part cost.
Many types of tool steels can be utilized in the making of the mold. Even aluminum has been utilized to construct a mold which is more economical. This type of tooling still molds parts which are equal to those manufactured on molds made of H13 or P20.
